This project transposes the spatial narrative of Hagia Sophia to a West Lake hillside in Hangzhou. We deconstructed its Byzantine section and spatial sequence, abstracting its core logic beyond form. This vocabulary was then reinterpreted through the local slope and the historical layer of Republican-era architecture, creating a hybrid structure where Eastern and Western memories dialogue through terrain.

To enrich this architectural speculation, I authored a companion novella, tracing imagined lives within the space. This marks my focused exploration into narrative design, where critical analysis, site-specific intervention and fiction converge to construct profound place.
